It is observed that some mufassirs and some Islamic Philosophers have difficulty on the subject of who or what is meant from the expression "men fi'n-nar" which can be translated as "on fire/one on fire/one/those next to fire" and mentioned in Musa parable in en-Neml sura. Accordingly, This article aims to discuss the aforesaid verse on how it is understood based on what and how it should be understood. When the word 'nar (fire)' cited second time in verse is evaluated in a real sense, it needs to make one of the two gloss in verse. In the first angle, Fire is not a world fire as we known or not in the feature of burner with the commandment of Allah even if it is a world fire or in the quality that will not burn Musa. As a second angle, when metaphor is put forward, it is reached the meaning" holy fighting fire put up in the wake of the true path and being a prophet". Even if this metaphorical fire seemingly gives fatigue to bodies in the World, it has the quality that will give life to life by transforming into "nur(light)". en-Neml suresindeki Mûsâ kıssasında geçen ve “ateşteki/ateşte olan/ateşin hemen yanında olan/olanlar” şeklinde tercüme edilebilecek “men fi’n-nâr” ibâresinden kimin veya neyin kastedildiği konusunda bazı müfessirlerin ve İslam düşünürlerinin bir oranda zorlandıkları veya fikir birliğine varamadıkları, hatta bazen önemli savrulmaların yaşandığı gözlemlenmektedir. Dolayısıyla bu makale
söz konusu ayetin, neye dayanarak nasıl anlaşıldığını ve nasıl anlaşılması gerektiğini tartışmayı amaç edinmiştir. Âyette ikinci defa zikredilen “nâr (ateş)” kelimesi hakîkî anlamda değerlendirildiğinde ayette iki tevilden birini yapmak gerekecektir. Bunlar ateşin bildiğimiz dünya ateşi olmadığı veya dünya ateşi olsa bile
Allâh’ın emriyle yakıcı özelliğe sahip olmadığı veya Mûsâ’nın bu ateşten etkilenmemesi sonuçlarına ulaşılabilir. İkinci bir vecih olarak mecâz öne çıkarıldığında;
“nübüvvet ve hidâyet yolunda verilecek kutlu mücadele ateşi” anlamına ulaşılabilir. Bu mecâzî ateş zahiren dünyada bedenlere yorgunluk verse bile “nûr”a dönüşüp ruhlara ve hayata hayat katacak niteliğe sahiptir.
