    Emergency issues and resilience caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Turkey

    The main objective of the study is to analyze the psychosocial, socio-economic and possible environmental crises based on the perception of the public in Turkey due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to try to examine the emergency issues caused by the pandemic and the factors affecting community resilience. For this purpose, after explaining the emergence of the COVID-19 Pandemic, resilience and emergency issuess were mentioned, the findings of the study were included. Within the scope of the study, it was adapted from another similar study and expert opinions were taken. In the study, in which 333 participants were reached, it was concluded that the participants were negatively affected mentally due to the pandemic, there were problems in the use of the health system of our country, the state should be more consistent in the measures against the pandemic, the prices of basic necessities increased significantly compared to the pre-pandemic period, the virus may have been transmitted to more people than detected. and that may happen while the pandemic continues It was concluded that they thought that the economic effects of secondary disasters could be severe. In this process we live in and in the future, it will be very important to be prepared in all aspects and to develop policies against any epidemic that may turn into a pandemic, at the point of establishing the resilience of our society.

    Evaluation of the relationship between self-care and treatment compliance in patients with type 2 diabetes: A Cross-sectional study from Northeast Turkiye

    Background: The study aimed to investigate the connection between self-care behaviors and treatment adherence among individuals with type 2 diabetes. Methods: This cross-sectional correlational study was conducted between January and May 2022 in a public hospital involving 191 patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Data were collected using the patient information form, the diabetes self-care scale, and the assessment scale for treatment compliance in type 2 diabetes. Results: The mean self-care score was 84.57 +/- 14.46 years, and the mean treatment compliance score was 79.50 +/- 11.13 years, with a significant negative correlation between them (r = -0.315, p < 0.001). Factors positively influencing self-care were being female (p < 0.05), unemployed (p < 0.05), farmer or civil servant (p < 0.05), hospitalized in the past year (p < 0.01), and exercising regularly or occasionally (p < 0.001). Treatment compliance was significantly higher in those who did not exercise (p < 0.01). A positive correlation was found between age and treatment compliance (r = 0.152, p < 0.05) but not with BMI or diagnosis duration. Conclusions: The study revealed that patients exhibited moderate levels of self-care and treatment compliance. Moreover, as self- care improved, treatment compliance tended to decrease.

    Using the fantastic reality ability measurement to cope with epidemics: A Turkish validity and reliability study

    Purpose: This study was conducted to adapt the Fantastic Reality Ability Measurement (FRAME) into Turkish. Design/methodology/approach: In the sample of this methodological study, 213 participants were included. Findings: The factor loading of the tool was within the appropriate range (0.53–0.94). Its Cronbach's alpha was 0.975, and the item total score correlations ranged between 0.594 and 0.881. Originality/value: The evaluation of the Turkish version of the FRAME revealed that it could be used as a valid and reliable measurement tool in Turkish population.
