    Agile supply chain management based on critical success factors and most ideal risk reduction strategy in the era of industry 4.0: Application to plastic industry

    In the global trade economy, the degree of competition and differentiation among organizations working in the sector of Supply Chain Management (SCM) is expanding gradually. For companies, SCM operations are becoming more important than manufacturing, sales, and marketing activities, and new ways and methods are preferred for efficiency and performance. The agility (or agility phenomenon) is one of the applications that aids effective SCM operations in this context. Agile Supply Chain Management (ASCM) and the emergence of Industry 4.0 practices, in addition to offering a cost advantage and business performance improvement, are crucial in providing flexibility to companies and ensuring their survival in the era of Industry 4.0. Meanwhile, companies aim to deal with uncertainty and implement various risk-reduction strategies as part of effective SCM. In this context, the study lists the critical success factors of ASCM and selects the most appropriate risk reduction strategy for companies that manufacture and market rubber and plastic products with a corporate identity and conduct import and export business in Istanbul. For this purpose, the criteria and alternatives specified in accordance with the literature review and experts’ opinions are examined using Bipolar Neutrosophic Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (BN-SWARA) and Bipolar Neutrosophic Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (BN-TOPSIS) methods. The ranking results are then discussed in line with the practical implications to provide managerial insights and decision aids. Finally, the main limitations are expressed in order to delineate useful future research directions.

    Assessing green approaches and digital marketing strategies for twin transition via fermatean fuzzy SWARA-COPRAS

    Integrating green approaches and digital marketing strategies for Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), which reduce environmental risks to desired levels by eliminating emissions and pollution, is considered one of the most promising solutions for logistics companies. The study strives to bring a practical and applicable solution to the decision problem involving the selection of indicators for green approaches and digital marketing strategies for ICTs in the logistics sector. An integrated Fermatean Fuzzy Step-wiseWeight Assessment Ratio Analysis (FF–SWARA) and Fermatean Fuzzy Complex Proportional Assessment (FF–COPRAS) methodology is applied to evaluate green approaches and digital marketing strategies. Concerning the findings, the foremost criterion is “data management,” whereas the best strategy is “programmatic advertising.” To the best of the authors’ knowledge, there is no other study that both offers a strategy selection for the logistics industry and considers environmental protection, sustainability, digital transformation, energy costs, and social and economic factors. The study is a part of ongoing research on productivity, sustainability, the environment, digitization, recycling and estimating levels of waste reduction, as well as business practices, competitiveness and ensuring employee satisfaction and resource efficiency. Also, it investigates the similarities and dissimilarities in the green approach practices of business in logistics and determines the extent to which these practices could be reflected. It is expected to ensure a roadmap for green approach practices and to support sustainable and ecological awareness efforts for ICTs in the logistics sector. Logistics companies can select an integrated digital strategy based on green informatics that suits them using the decision model employed in this study, which can handle uncertainties effectively. In this regard, the study’s findings, which focus on reaching customers and the most precise target audience in digital applications for businesses, are critical for developing strategy, plan and process.

    Assessment of ideal smart network strategies for logistics companies using an integrated picture fuzzy LBWA-CoCoSo framework

    Purpose Nowadays, companies have required new alternatives and strategies to handle environmental sustainability difficulties, primarily as ecological and social awareness has grown. In this context, the aim is to determine the green transportation indicators in companies with corporate identity and logistics activities at the international level in Giresun, Ordu, Gumushane, Artvin, Rize, and Trabzon in the Eastern Black Sea Region in Turkey. At the same time, the study contributes to providing an effective and applicable solution to decision-making problems involving the assessment of green transportation indicators and smart network strategies in the logistics sector, which is a critical sector for countries. The purpose of this paper is to address these issues. Design/methodology/approach This study aims to propose a model for the selection of smart network strategy and to determine the criteria weights used in green transportation indicators, and establish an ideal smart network strategy. In achieving the outlined goals of the study, the authors believe that the model proposed in the study will draw the focus to green logistics which will aid the environmental, economic and social efforts of businesses and governments through the provision of efficient use of scarce resources, which will, in turn, ensure that we leave a sustainable environment for future generations and businesses enjoy a competitive advantage. At the same time, different smart network strategies and green transportation indicators in companies show the success rate of social, economic and environmental indicators in green logistics practices. In addition to providing innovative, reliable and sustainable transportation systems, smart network strategies are critical for businesses to create cost advantages. Through the green transportation indicators and smart network strategies selection model outlined in this study, it is clear that the contribution will not only be limited to businesses, as the society and governments will also benefit from the important indicators on sustainability, as well as the protection of the environment and nature. Findings According to the findings, "economic indicators" is the essential green transportation indicator in logistics companies with a corporate identity and worldwide transportation operations. Besides, the "mixed access model strategy" is the most appropriate smart network strategy in logistics firms with corporate identity and worldwide transportation activities. Currently, it is possible to assume that logistics organizations prefer to profit from all smart network strategies in terms of cost optimization and competitiveness rather than from just one. The study, on the other hand, which is a road map that will help sustainability practices in the logistics sector due to green transportation, also examines the similarities and differences of green transportation practices in companies in the relevant sector and to what extent they can be reflected. As a result, the study provides a practical road map for selecting green transport indicators and a smart network strategy process for the logistics industry. Originality/value This study examined logistics companies with a corporate identity and international transportation activities in provinces in the Eastern Black Sea Region such as Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gumushane. Novel picture fuzzy level based weight assessment (PF-LBWA) and picture fuzzy combined compromise solution (PF-CoCoSo) methods are developed to solve the decision-making problem.

    A bipolar neutrosophic combined compromise solution-based hybrid model for identifying blockchain application barriers and Benchmarking consensus algorithms

    Blockchain technology and applications, one of the most attractive Industry 4.0 technologies, provide organizations with a transparent, reliable, and traceable distributed ledger network. Blockchain technologies have the potential to transform the way logistics companies and supply chains operate and boost efficiency. However, blockchain technology applications are not yet widely adopted in all industries. Among the challenges that logistics companies should pay close attention to in the future are focusing on blockchain technology, reducing current barriers, and supporting the best consensus algorithms. In this context, the main research questions are: (1) What are the obstacles to blockchain technology applications in logistics organizations? (2) Which is the best consensus algorithm? The study suggests the approach of combining subjective and objective techniques in the process of weighting the criteria. Also, the research introduces the bipolar neutrosophic-logarithmic percentage change-driven objective weighting approach, as well as the bipolar neutrosophic-combined compromise solution approach, for choosing a consensus algorithm to solve the obstacles blockchain technologies face. According to the study's findings, the most significant barrier in blockchain technologies is "lack of legal regulation". “Proof of authority” is identified as the most important consensus algorithm.

    Corporate sustainability strategy selection for a metropolitan municipality using a trapezoidal interval type-2 fuzzy SWARA–COPRAS framework

    Local governments are willing to use their activities and resources in accordance with the changing and transforming conditions. Especially with the increasing importance of sustainability, economic, social, and environmental strategies are redefining. Thus, a sustainable corporate governance model that includes a systematic and analytical approach should be used to solve the decision-making problem of local governments regarding changing corporate and environmental sustainability strategies. In particular, new measurement methods are required to define the sustainability outputs/strategies of local governments. In this context, it is clear that there is a need for a more holistic approach that focuses not only on the immediate effects at the local government level but also on the positive effects on the entire system. While the study fills this gap, it also evaluates the long-term and sustainable impacts of the organization. The study also contributes to a methodological framework that can help advance future research on the practice of monitoring sustainable development by local governments. This study aims to determine the best corporate sustainability strategy by evaluating environmental sustainability from the perspective of local governments. For this purpose, the criteria were evaluated using trapezoidal interval type-2 fuzzy SWARA, and the alternatives were ranked through trapezoidal interval type-2 fuzzy COPRAS methods. The findings show that net-zero targets and sustainable production are more crucial criteria. Additionally, it has been determined that social and environmental strategies have priority in the selection of alternative criteria related to corporate sustainability. The main finding of this study is that local governments include responsible production criteria in their priority policies. The results obtained contribute to the literature on measuring sustainable development outcomes in local government organizations and identify strategies and improvement opportunities that can lead to better practices.

    Critical success factors of lean six sigma to select the most ideal critical business process using q-ROF CRITIC-ARAS technique: Case study of food business

    The current market conditions have forced Lean Six Sigma (LSS) upon businesses as one of the must-have practices. The practices have been credited with enhancing the efficiency of the operational and functional processes of enterprises from production to marketing, from personnel management to finance, all the while helping them augment their growth and profitability. LSS has the customer as its main focus and works to create added value for businesses through cost reduction and waste prevention hence can be considered as a process improvement practice. One priority area of improvement in most organizations is the assessment of Critical Business Processes (CBPs) as key processes in the success of businesses that must be tackled in line with the objectives of the businesses due to their extensive impact on customer satisfaction. For this purpose, this study evaluates and ranks the CBPs, and then select the most ideal CBP in food companies with corporate identity in Istanbul following the LSS success factors. Hence, the components attained from the literature are assessed using the suggested “q-ROF CRITIC-ARAS” method which is based on CRiteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation (CRITIC), Additive Ratio Assessment (ARAS) techniques and q-Rung Orthopair Fuzzy Sets (q-ROFSs). The findings demonstrate that the most important criterion for LSS success in food businesses is “Top Management and Support”, while “Education and Culture” is the least important. Furthermore, “Enlightenment Approach” is found to be the most ideal CBP based on LSS success factors

    Determining the factors affecting transportation demand management and selecting the best strategy: A case study

    Demand management in transportation services, as well as demand sustainability, demand planning, and demand implementation are critical components in service quality and environmental sustainability. It is evident that developing a transportation system, particularly one responsive to society's aspirations and demands, will result in long-term and sustainable success for enterprises. Transportation demand management and strategies can produce alternative perspectives at a desirable and sufficient level to handle problems in the field while considering the obstacles. Considering the elements influencing transportation demand management in logistics enterprises, this study aims to evaluate factors affecting transportation demand management and select the best strategy. The study was carried out on logistic firms with a corporate identity in the Turkish province of Samsun (Turkiye), engaged in international transportation activities to define the criteria affecting transportation demand management and select the best transportation demand strategy. The constituents from the literature review were analyzed using the q-rung orthopair fuzzy MCDA methodology. “Freight Transportation” was determined to be the most crucial measure affecting transportation demand management, while “Competition Legislation and Regulations Regulation” was the least important factor. The rapid expansion in the number of companies participating in freight transport and their capacity was evaluated as the essential aspect for the relevant logistics companies in transport demand management. The “Strategy for Prioritizing High Occupancy Vehicles” is the best transportation strategy based on the weights of the transportation demand management factors. Because of the implementation of this strategy in logistics organizations, this study is regarded as a significant indicator of competitiveness to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. The defined transport demand strategy also represents an exemplary model of the measures that need to be developed to increase the demand preference for sustainable transport.

    Environmental, social, and governance risks and environmentally sensitive competitive strategies: A case study of a multinational logistics company

    Global climate change continues to have a negative impact on many sectors, particu-larly supply chains and logistics. Companies are progressively incorporating environ-mentally friendly practices into their strategies to tackle this global problem.Accordingly, the increase in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks hasincreased the importance of sustainable corporate governance. As a result, compa-nies tend to place more emphasis on ESG initiatives. The study aims to analyze theimportance levels of ESG criteria and to select the most ideal environmentally sensi-tive competitive strategy for multinational logistics companies. For this purpose, a setof criteria and alternatives for the businesses in the context of the related problemwas defined, and a decision model was proposed to handle problems, which includeuncertain information. In this context, q-rung orthopair fuzzy (q-ROF) weighted aver-age technique was used for weighting the criteria and q-ROF-evaluation based ondistance from average solution (q-ROF-EDAS) method was utilized for prioritizingthe strategies. As a result,“greenhouse gas emissions”was identified as the mostimportant criterion, while“eco-efficiency”was selected as the best option for envi-ronmentally conscious competitive strategies.

    Evaluating and selecting sustainable logistics service providers for medical waste disposal treatment in the healthcare industry

    Health institutes are structurally growing depending on the population increase and escalating demands for health services. As a negative result, the health industry produces more healthcare waste daily. Its efforts and resources cannot be sufficient to dispose of such medical wastes as the quantity and variety continue to increase. Therefore, developing solution partnership relations with logistics service providers specialized in collecting, storing, and disposing healthcare waste may be a beneficial and fruitful step for solving this problem. However, the evaluation and selection of service suppliers for healthcare waste disposal may not always result in success. Hence, the present work develops a robust integrated methodology on the basis of Step-wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) and COmplex PRoportional ASsessment (COPRAS) techniques based on Interval-Valued Fermatean Fuzzy Sets (IVFFSs) for healthcare decision-makers to make more rational and optimal decisions concerning service supplier selection. The proposed model based on the IVFFSs can also overcome incredibly complicated uncertainties in the assessment processes. A large-scale international hospital chain in Turkey is investigated using the developed methodology to find reasonable and logical solutions to assess and select the best Medical Waste Disposal and Logistics (MWDL) firm. It is revealed that the most important criterion is “Storage Conditions” where “Republic Services, Inc” is the most successful supplier of MWDL. Finally, theoretical and practical implications are discussed in detail in order to provide useful managerial insights and decision aids to assist in improving the sustainability of healthcare industry.

    Evaluating barriers to implementation of open innovation in SMEs: A case study in Ordu province

    Approaches such as innovation, innovation management, open innovation, and utilization of technology have become critical for almost all businesses to stay ahead of the competition in today's globalized corporate environment. Non-enterprise innovation applications, often known as open innovation in enterprises, are integrated by embedding them into internal systems. The production of innovative ideas in collaboration with non-enterprise partners can be classified as open innovation practices within small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). As a result, they are critical components in assisting organizations, such as offering a competitive advantage to SMEs, cost reduction, improving customer service quality, and responding to market needs on time. Yet, SMEs have a number of challenges when it comes to open innovation applications. The elimination of these barriers and problems will also increase the agility of SMEs. In this context, the barriers to open innovation implementation in SMEs were investigated, and the criteria that prevent open innovation were identified. The weight coefficients representing the importance levels of the criteria were calculated using the Interval Valued Intuitionistic Fuzzy Ranking Comparison (RANCOM) technique. According to the findings, the most critical barrier in the fulfilment of open innovation was " inadequacy or lack of management support.".

    Evaluation of metaverse-based digital transformation strategies via an interval-valued q-rung orthopair fuzzy methodology

    The Metaverse is expected to trigger substantial changes to the tourism industry. For example, hotels may change the guest booking experience by implementing this revolutionary technology, which allows customers to take virtual tours of hotel rooms before booking them. In this regard, the study aims to solve the problem of determining the best digital transformation strategy by examining different characteristics of metaverse applications in Turkish corporate travel and hotel companies. The interval-valued q-rung orthopair fuzzy methodology was used to solve the problem in the study. The study's findings include important implications for the literature, businesses, and the tourism industry about metaverse and real-world problems. Furthermore, the implementation scenarios and directions of digital transformation strategies for the metaverse are discussed. Businesses can use the study's proposed model to develop new business models based on metaverse advancements. According to the findings, the virtual tour route for the Metaverse application is the most important criterion. As a result, practitioners in the tourism sector must understand the significance of the virtual tour route in achieving successful digital transformation outcomes. The study's findings reveal that developing a high-level business model rather than traditional business models is the ideal strategy for digital transformation in the tourism industry. It also provides an overview of digital transformation strategy achievements in different areas of the travel and hotel businesses by evaluating the current status of metaverse applications and reporting on the potential problems in building and maintaining these applications. The study is a pioneer in giving a comprehensive perspective on metaverse application solutions, development, management, and digital transformation strategies in corporate hotel and travel businesses.

    Fresh food supplier selection for global retail chains via bipolar neutrosophic methodology

    Due to increases in world population, rapid urbanization, increasing environmental pollution, and poorly managed food supply chains (FSCs), supplying clean and reliable agri-food has become more critical. Furthermore, increasing concerns of the urban population on healthy and balanced nutrition have increased their demand for fresh foods (FFs). Also, the retail industry has become the leading sector responding to almost all requirements of individuals, including FFs. Heightened awareness of individuals on health, reliability, and quality forces retail chains to provide more qualified, sustainable, and reliable FFs for their customers. Retail chains try to construct and manage well-structured global fresh food supply chains (FFSCs) to respond to customers' needs satisfactorily. Thus, selecting logistics service providers performing FF logistics operations (i.e., cold transportation, warehousing, and other logistics activities) from farms to retailers is essential for reliable and sustainable FFSCs. Because FFSCs are pretty sensitive, and minor mistakes or delinquency may cause severe costs. Global retail chains, in particular, only focus on meeting short-term demand and not on a sustainable fresh food supplier selection; fresh food suppliers are essential to determine sustainability performance. In this context, a more holistic approach is needed, focusing not only on the global retail chain level's direct impacts but also on the positive impacts at the overall system level. While this study fills a gap, it also assesses the long-term and lasting impact of choosing a fresh food supplier. In addition, the impacts of logistics service providers on FFSCs' overall performance have not been addressed adequately in the relevant literature. This work aims to analyze the factors identified by the extended form of the Delphi method developed in the present article, influencing the selection of logistics service providers producing logistics services for fresh fruits and vegetables with the BN-VIKOR procedure. The paper's main significant finding is that the logistics firms' service capacity is the determinative and most influential factor. The current study provides insights and beneficial road maps to the practitioners and decision-makers in retailing industry to structure FFSCs. The results contribute to the literature on criteria for selecting sustainable fresh food suppliers in global retail chains and identify strategies and improvement opportunities that can lead to improvement in practice.

    Global innovation efficiency assessment of EU member and candidate countries via DEA-EATWIOS multi-criteria methodology

    Globalization and changing levels of competition highlight the importance of innovation and innovation management, as well as their efficiency, as a critical economic factor for countries. In fact, the perspectives on innovation effectiveness are seen as essential success factors in achieving economic prosperity and competing in the markets. Global innovation efficiency, which is vital for both the European Union member and candidate countries and one of the determinants of the competitive process throughout the world, helps the economies catch up with the developing and changing technology while revealing the innovation perspectives of the countries. The aim of this study is to examine and compare the global innovation efficiency that can be considered as crucial economic factor for European Union member and candidate countries by using the Global Innovation Index (GII), published jointly by Cornell University and WIPO in 2020 in terms of innovation inputs and outputs. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Efficiency Analysis Technique with Input and Output Satisficing (EATWIOS) methods are applied for comparison. According to the study’s findings, the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden are obtained as the most important countries in terms of global innovation efficiency. Nevertheless, Lithuania, Greece, and North Macedonia have been ranked as the last three inefficient countries. Further, some suggestions are made to eliminate the deficiencies of non-innovative countries.

    Investigation of factors driving manufacturing companies to green manufacturing using direct rating technique

    Environmental practices have been incorporated into business models and procedures in today's competitive climate, and they are now significant challenges that require attention. Businesses have undergone several changes as a result of these practices, including concerns about preserving a habitable environment for future generations and guaranteeing energy efficiency with sustainable production. To the extent that green manufacturing practices have been included into business strategies and used to inform future planning. In this context, green production practices have emerged as a crucial factor that requires careful attention from businesses. Nowadays, green production is a crucial tool for manufacturing businesses. The study investigated what motivates manufacturing companies to engage in green production practices. The goal was to weight the characteristics that were identified as driving businesses to engage in green manufacturing operations. To do this, the identified criteria were weighted using one of the multi-criteria decision analysis techniques, direct rating. The results of the application showed that "support from top management," "increasing demand for green products," and "increasing public pressure" were the main drivers of manufacturing companies' transition to green production practices.

    Purpose – Sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) practices and policies are necessary for businesses that seek to take part in international markets and ensure any form of competitiveness. Over time, and especially in the recent past, researchers, governments, and other policymakers have made use of broad and systematic approaches and come to appreciate the value-enhancing activities of sustainability. Design/methodology/approach – Businesses have embraced the integration of sustainable policies and practices within the supply chain as a critical step in ensuring the efficiency of their operations. It is clear in previous studies and operational programs of enterprises that SSCM practices accord businesses certain benefits including improving their environmental, social, and economic performance, and increasing their ecological awareness by way of influencing performance elements within supply networks in enterprises. The study examines the factors influencing performance and theories of SSCM using a neutrosophic method in the textile industry. Findings – SSCM performance is thus of great importance in ensuring business success and competitiveness, realizing customer satisfaction, and leaving the environment in a desirable state for future generations. Performance management, by assisting in the decision-making by managers and ensuring an adequate level of internal interaction, is an integral part of assimilating sustainability management into businesses. SSCM theories also have a strong impact on the determination of the sources of competitive advantage through effective utilization of business capabilities to solve environmental and social challenges that may affect business performance. Originality/value – In line with the benefits highlighted, this study seeks to evaluate and select the factors affecting SSCM performance and theory in textile enterprises with corporate identity in Ordu and Giresun provinces following a neutrosophic approach. To this end, the elements obtained from the literature review are evaluated using the MULTIMOORA-mGqNN method.

    Rating pressure factors affecting logistics systems during the pandemic and the ideal logistic decision selection under the Pythagorean fuzzy environment

    Purpose – Due to the current pandemic, the importance of logistics functions and decisions is well understood both at the level of companies and users. Logistics systems and related decisions are of vital importance in making supply chains effective, efficient and without disruption. Logistic pressure factors may emerge at different points along the logistics process, and given the role of logistics decisions as one of the important indicators of competitiveness, the determination of the logistics pressures that are likely to increase the costs of business, and their causative factors are a vital aspect of the logistics decision-making process. The study aims to provide assistance in the selection of the most ideal logistics decision by ranking the pressure factors affecting the logistics system, especially during the pandemic period for logistics enterprises operating in Ordu and Giresun provinces and which have a corporate identity. Design/methodology/approach – In this study, it is aimed to make the most ideal logistics decision selection by ranking the pressure factors affecting the logistics system, especially during the pandemic period for the logistics enterprises operating in Ordu and Giresun provinces and having a corporate identity. For that purpose interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy (IVPF)–analytic hierarchy process (AHP) based combinative distance-based assessment (CODAS) methodology was used. Additionally sensitivity and comparison analysis were discussed. Findings – Competitive pressure was found as the most important pressure factor affecting the logistics system during the pandemic period. Change in regulatory rules was the pressure factor found to have the least effect on the logistics system. Using the weights of logistics pressure factors, “Operational Decisions” was found to be the most ideal logistics decision selection. Research limitations/implications – The findings provide support for the evaluation of logistical pressures and decision options by presenting a decision model capable of processing ambiguous information. During a pandemic or similar period, the study assists decision makers in determining a new route. The findings will also call business managers’ attention to logistical pressure factors and lead them toward more realistic and feasible practices in the logistics decision-making process.

    Selecting the ideal sustainable green strategy for logistics companies using a T-spherical fuzzy-based methodology

    Governments, institutions, and organizations focused on renewable and green energy problems have provided significant support and incentives for project development in recent years. Green transformation is fostered through environmentally friendly and clean energy practices, which are the key to a sustainable future for the entire world, and governments and enterprises shape their business and transactions within this framework. However, there are various challenges and obstacles in green energy applications, both in businesses and in government policies. The study, which focuses on green energy problems, seeks to connect energy with sustainable business strategies. Furthermore, because businesses are often concerned with social and environmental implications, it is believed that implementing a sustainable energy strategy will give long-term benefits to businesses. In this regard, this study aims to identify green energy problems in logistics companies and to select the best sustainable strategy. The hybrid T-spherical fuzzy (T-SF) methodology is introduced to solve the problem, including T–SF–subjective weighting, T–SF–criteria importance through intercriteria correlation (CRITIC), subjective and objective weight integrated approach (SOWIA), and T–SF–additive ratio assessment system (ARAS). According to the results, the most important green energy factor in logistics companies is determined as “energy security”. The best sustainable strategy is identified as the “socially beneficial services supply strategy”. The relevant results are critical for guiding companies, users, and stakeholders.

    Strategic analysis of e-trade platforms in automotive spare part sector: A T-Spherical fuzzy perspective

    E-trade platforms are software applications that enable businesses to conduct online sales and manage their digital storefronts. These platforms provide a range of tools and features to facilitate the creation, operation, and management of an online business. This study comprehensively evaluates e-trade platforms within the automotive spare parts industry, examining various critical aspects to identify the optimal platform. The evaluation includes an in-depth analysis of the current state of the platforms, exploration of potential strategies and approaches for improvement, and identification and analysis of challenges and barriers. To address these issues, the study employs problem-solving within the framework of expert evaluations based on criteria defined by an extensive literature review. T-Spherical fuzzy (T-SF) subjective weighting approach and T-SF-weighted aggregated sum product assessment (WASPAS) method are used for this purpose. The analysis reveals that “security” is the most crucial criterion, with Amazon emerging as the most prominent e-trade platform. The findings indicate that prioritizing security, discounts, and delivery time will enable e-commerce platforms to gain a competitive edge. The study evaluates international e-commerce platforms, identifying weaknesses in critical business areas key competitive advantage factors, and offering forward-thinking recommendations. This research has significant implications for the rapid and effective development of logistical partnerships with e-trade platforms across various industries. Additionally, it serves as a foundational basis and template for future research in the e-commerce sector, particularly within the automotive spare parts industry.

    Sustainability performance assessment of freight transportation modes using an integrated decision‑making framework based on m‑generalized q‑neutrosophic sets

    The freight transport industry is one of the primary sectors responsible for excessive energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Restructuring international and domestic freight transport chains based on sustainability and green transportation is critical for practitioners and policymakers to reduce pressure on the logistics and transportation industries. This study aims to develop a mathematical model for selecting the most appropriate transportation type, and accordingly, the optimal route in transportation operations to improve the sustainability performance of the freight transportation industry. Therefore, the main goal is to choose the most suitable route and transportation type which contributes to create a more eco-friendly and sustainable transportation system. For this purpose, Neutrosophic Number-based Delphi (NN-Delphi), m-Generalized q-Neutrosophic Sets (mGqNSs)-based Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (MGqNS-SWARA) and mGqNSs-based Additive Ratio Assessment (mGqNS-ARAS) are developed and implemented to set the influential criteria, compute the weights of these criteria, and identify the sustainability performance of the freight mode variants, respectively. According to the final results, "Cargo security" and "Accident rates" are the most important criteria with a relative importance score of 0.0237, contributing to the sustainability of load transport modes. Moreover, "Maritime Transport Mode" is identified as the most sustainable transportation type with a relative importance score of 0.7895. Finally, it is revealed that there is a positive relationship between maritime transport and sustainability.

    The barriers related to smart manufacturing systems and an application for the selection of innovation management Model: The case of Samsun province

    More productive processes and innovation management have gained popularity due to technological advancements enabling flexible manufacturing, cost-effectiveness, and business process optimization. In the information age, Industry 4.0 has strengthened the relevance of smart systems, and the smart concept is emphasized for innovative production processes. In other words, integrated innovative automation and digitalized solutions provide businesses with a competitive advantage. Conse-quently, smart manufacturing technologies that enable effective and quick production processes can be regarded as key elements for businesses. However, businesses face many barriers when transitioning to and adopting smart manufacturing systems. To increase production and efficiency, businesses must remove or reduce barriers to the lowest possible level. However, in both service and manufacturing organizations, innovation management and innovation management models are critical indicators for enhancing competitiveness and providing a cost advantage. This is also beneficial for technology and smart management practices. In this context, this chapter aims to determine the importance of barriers to smart manufacturing systems in plastic sector companies operating in Samsun and select the best innovation management model. While the Neutrosophic AHP method was used to weigh the criteria, the Neutro-sophic MARCOS method was utilized to rank the alternatives consisting of linear, balanced, interactive, and learning-integrated system models. According to the study, the most significant barriers to smart production systems are “Smart manufacturing system expenses” and “Insufficient technical infrastructure.” The integrated learning systems model was chosen as the best model for innovation management.
