Öğe Tekvando sporcularının kilo düşme profillerinin belirlenmesi(Ankara Bilim, 2025) Samar, Ezgi; Altun, Reşat; Selvi, SabitThis study was conducted to determine the weight loss profiles of taekwondo athletes. The study was designed in a quantitative research model and a survey design was used. The population of the research was made with the participation of 163 volunteers, 92 male and 71 female, who came to the championship from 81 provinces affiliated to the Ministry of Youth Sports and private clubs from 81 provinces affiliated to the Ministry of Youth Sports. As a data collection tool in the study, the “Athlete Weight Drop Methods and Effects Scale” developed by Yarar et al. (2016) was used. Before analyzing the data, normality test was applied to decide on the statistical methods to be applied. In statistical procedures, the skewness and kurtosis values of the data were examined, and it was determined that the values obtained here were in the range of -2+2. It was accepted that these values were suitable for normal distribution. Therefore, independent groups t-test, one-way variance (ANOVA) and Pearson correlation analysis were used in the data analysis. In this study, the Cronbach Alpa reliability coefficient of the measurement tool was determined as 0.786. According to the analysis, 56.4% of the participants were male, 43.6% were female, 67.5% were not national athletes, 47.9% had difficulty in weight loss and 44.2% checked their weight once a week. While a significant difference was found in favor of men in the psychological effect sub-dimension in the mean scores of the weight loss methods scale of the athletes, a significant difference was found in favor of those who had difficulty in the total score of the scale, physiological and psychological effect and diet sub-dimensions in the variable of having difficulty in weight loss. As a result, it was determined that it is very important for Taekwondo athletes to adjust their weight loss in the long term with their healthy diets and to proceed in a controlled manner in weight loss in terms of increasing their sportive performance and preventing permanent damage with rapid weight loss.
