The aim of this study is to determine the attitudes of medical students towards brain drain and to examine the differences according to some demographic variables. Countries that give brain drain are damaged in many ways. Especially when factors such as rapidly developing technology, speed of information and need for qualified personnel are taken into consideration, countries should pay more attention to this issue. The population of the study consists of 1504 students studying at Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine in the spring term of 2021- 2022. The sample of the study consists of 206 students who participated voluntarily. The data were collected online and the convenience sampling method was used. To reveal the differences between demographic variables, t-test was used for pairwise comparisons, and ANOVA test was used to compare three or more variables. It has been observed that push factors are more effective than pull factors in the tendency of medical school students to brain drain. It was observed that there was no significant difference between gender, age, income level of the family and the region where the family lived, and the perceptions of the medical faculty students towards brain drain. It has been observed that the perception of brain drain changes according to factors such as students' class, foreign language level, desire to work in rural areas, view of the health system and society's view of physicians. In the study, it was seen that medical school students are seriously prone to brain drain and the main reasons for this are due to disturbing situations such as problems in the country and lack of opportunities. It has been observed that the factors causing brain drain are generally pushing factors. Improving the working conditions of medical school graduates in the country can be an important factor in reducing the brain drain.
