| dc.description.abstract | Papa II. Urbanus, 27 Kasım 1095 tarihinde düzenlediği Clermont Konsili’nde kutsal toprakları Müslümanlardan kurtarmak adına bir çağrıda bulunmuştur. Bu çağrı Hristiyanlar nezdinde karşılık bulmuş ve 1096’dan 1291 yılına kadar sürecek olan Haçlı Seferleri başlamıştır. XI. yüzyılda var olan ekonomik, toplumsal ve siyasal koşullar feodal düzen içinde yaşayan halkın hayatını zorlaştırmıştır. Papa II. Urbanus, bu koşullardan bezmiş olan halka dünyevi refah yanında manevi ve uhrevi faydalar vaat etmiştir. Kutsal mekânları Hristiyan olmayanlardan kurtarmak, günahlardan arınmak, hac yolculuğuna katılmak ve bunların yanında zengin olmak gibi amaçlara ulaşmak için erkek, kadın ve çocuk, her kesimden Hristiyan, Haçlı Seferleri’ne katılım sağlamıştır. Çıkılan bu seferlerde Müslümanlardan başka, paganlar ve Ortodoks Hristiyanlar da hedef alınmıştır. Haçlı Seferleri’nin birçok sebep ve sonuçları vardır. Konu haçlılar olunca araştırmacının ulaşacağı hedef neyi belirlediği ile ilgilidir. Genelde Haçlı Seferleri’nin siyasal, toplumsal, askerî ve ekonomik yönleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Dini söylemler ise seferlerin çıkış noktası olarak verilmiştir. Bu makalenin amacı, Papa II. Urbanus’un Haçlı Seferleri’ne yaptığı çağrının içeriği nedir, Hristiyanların motivasyonlarını neler sağlamıştır, haçlı kimdir, Hristiyanlar açısından Kudüs ve kutsal mekânların önemi nedir gibi sorulara cevap aramaktır. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Pope Urban II made a call to save the holy lands from Muslims at the Council of Clermont, which he organized on November 27, 1095. The Christians responded to this call, and the Crusades, which lasted from 1096 until 1291, started. The economic, social, and political conditions of the 10th century made life hard for those who lived under the feudal system. Pope Urban II promised spiritual and heavenly blessings as well as earthly wealth to people who were tired of these situations. Christians from all walks of life, men, women, and children, took part in the effort to save the holy places from non-Christians, to cleanse themselves of sins, to go on pilgrimages, and become wealthy. In the wars, apart from Muslims, pagans and Orthodox Christians were also targeted. The Crusades had many causes and effects. When the subject is the crusaders, the purpose that the researchers will reach is about what they determine. In general, the political, social, military, and economic aspects of the Crusades were emphasized. Religious discourses serve as the starting point of the expeditions. The goal of this article is to find the answers to these questions: what is the content of Pope Urban's call to the Crusades, what were the motivation for Christians, who are the crusaders, and what is the importance of Jerusalem and holy places for Christians. | |
