Özet
In this research it is aimed to study the academic motivations of elementary pre-service teachers according to the variances of gender, age, grade level, graduation type of high school, and Academic Motivation Scale prepared by Vallerand et al. [1], has been used as a means of data-collection. The Academic Motivation Scale consists of 28 likert-type scale questions. This scale consists of seven factors each of which has four items; intrinsic motivation-to know, intrinsic motivation-toward accomplishment, intrinsic motivation-to experince stimulation, extrinsic motivation identified, extrinsic motivation-introjected, extrinsic motivation-external regulation and amotivation. During the evaluation of the research data SPSS package program has been utilized. As a result of the evaluation of the research data, no difference has been detected according to the variances of age, graduation type of high school on the intrinsic and extrinsic subscales and on the subscale of amotivation. According to the variable of gender, a meaningful difference between males and females has been detected just on the subscales of extrinsic motivation and amotivation. As for the variable of grade level, a difference has been detected on the subscale of extrinsic motivation.
