Özet
Araştırmacılar ikidillilik kavramı üzerine ortak bir görüş etrafında birleşmemekte ve “İkidillilik nedir? Hangi koşullarda bir kişi iki dilli sayılır?” gibi sorulara ortak bir cevap vermemektedir. Kimi araştırmacılar ikidilliliği bireyin iki farklı dili anadili seviyesinde bilmesi olarak tanımlarken; bazıları ise bu kavramı iki dilden her hangi birinde en az bir dil becerisine hâkim olmak şeklinde tanımlamaktadır. İkidillilik kavramını; dilbilim, psikoloji, sosyoloji gibi birçok bilim dalı farklı bakış açılarıyla ele alınmaktadır. Bu nedenle alan yazınında ikidillilik ile ilgili farklı fikirler ve tanımlar bulunmaktadır. Eğitimde de ele alınan ikidillilik kavaramı ile ilgili her iki dilin hangi yaşta ve nasıl edinebileceği, eğitim ortamında iki dilli bireylerle ilgili yaşanan problemlerin nasıl çözümlenebileceği gibi konular tartışılmaktadır. Ayrıca İki dilli öğrencilerin eğitim camiasında algılanışının, eğitimcilerin onlar hakkındaki görüşlerinin de önem arz ettiği gözlemlenmektedir. Bu araştırmada, eğitim fakültesinde görev yapan öğretim elemanlarının “ikidillilik kavramı” hakkındaki görüşleri araştırılmıştır
The researchers do not have a consensus on the concept of bilingualism and they do not have common answers about questions such as “What is bilingualism?, Under which conditions would anyone be bilingual?”. While some researchers define bilingualism as the ability to speak two different languages natively, others describe it as having at least one of the language skills in either of two languages. Many disciplines such as linguistics, psychology and sociology consider bilingualism from different perspectives. Therefore, there are different ideas and definitions related to bilingualism in literature. In education, issues such as at what age and how a person should learn both languages and how bilingual people can solve their problems in teaching/learning environment are discussed. In addition, it is realized that the perception of bilingual students in education and educators’ opinions about them are important. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the views of the researchers working at the faculty of education on the bilingualism.
