Özet

With the aim of assessing potential public impact, investigations on drinking water samples in Batman, located in the southeastern part of Turkey, were conductud by measuring radon concentrations. Radon concentrations were found to diverge in the range between 0.19 and 0.93 Bq.L?1 with an average value of 0.48 Bq.L?1 and a standart deviation of 0.16 Bq.L?1. The associated ingestion and inhalation annual effective doses were estimated to assess the health risk for different age-wise. The findings indicate that the attained values are below limits of WHO. The spatial distribution of radon was investigated in waters from the undisturbed areas and the interpolated radiological maps were created.
