dc.description.abstractGlobal issues, which are among the most serious issues of our times, threaten the existence of humanity and the world. The most basic concept encountered regarding the aforementioned issues is the concept of sustainability. This matter becomes even more important especially when the use of plastic bags is considered. This study, which summarizes the most recent state of sustainable development, focused on environmental sustainability and plastic bag consumption and evaluated the negative effects of plastic bag use on the environment and health. In this context, the effects of the taxation regulations and pricing policies implemented against plastic bag use for the sake of creating a sustainable environment were analyzed.
