| dc.description.abstract | Türkiye’de turizm sektörü, hizmet sektörünün önemli bir kısmını oluşturmaktadır. Bu nedenle turizm sektöründeki gelişmeler, ülke ekonomisi açısından önemli sonuçlar doğurmaktadır. Pandemi ve pandeminin yarattığı düzenleme gereksinimleri hizmet sektörünü oldukça etkilemiştir. Turizm sektörü ise bu gelişmelerden en fazla etkilenen sektörlerin başında gelmektedir. Bunun nedeni, turizm sektörünün pandemiden hem doğrudan hem de ulaşım imkanlarının daralması ile birlikte dolaylı olarak etkilenmesidir. Dolayısıyla, bunun ülke ekonomisine etkileri de olumsuzdur. Bu çalışmanın amacı, COVID-19 pandemisinin ülke ekonomisine etkisini, turizm sektörü özelinde değerlendirmektir. Çalışmada, COVID-19 pandemisinin ortaya çıkışının ardından yaşanan gelişmeler ile birlikte Türkiye’nin turizm sektöründe meydana getirdiği değişmeler 2021 yılı ilk çeyreğini de kapsayan güncel veriler kullanılarak tablo analiz ile incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, turizm sektöründe ertelenmiş talebin sonradan yerine konması mümkün olmadığından, bu sektör yüksek maliyetlerle kriz sonrası döneme girecek ve hızlı bir toparlanma beklense bile kriz öncesi trendini yakalaması oldukça zaman alacaktır. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The tourism sector in Turkey constitutes an important part of the service sector. Therefore, developments in the tourism sector have important consequences for the country’s economy. The pandemic and the regulatory requirements caused by the pandemic have greatly affected the service industry. The tourism sector is one of the leading sectors most affected by these developments. The reason for this is the fact that the tourism sector is affected by the pandemic both directly and indirectly due to the narrowing of transportation facilities. Therefore, the impact of this situation on the country’s economy are also negative. The aim of this study is to evaluate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the country’s economy within the tourism sector. In the study, the developments after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the changes in Turkey’s tourism sector, are examined via financial statement analysis using the current data covering the first quarter of 2021. According to the findings, since it is not possible to replace the lagged demand in the tourism sector, this sector would enter the post-crisis period with high costs and it would take a long time to catch up with the pre-crisis trend even if a rapid recovery is expected. | |
