| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışma, doçentlik başvuru ve değerlendirme sürecine ilişkin adayların tecrübelerinden hareketle yaşanan sorunları görünür kılma amacını taşımaktadır. Ayrıca adayların deneyimledikleri sorunlara ilişkin olası çözüm önerileri de geliştirmeye çalışılmıştır. Fenomenolojik desende tasarlanan araştırmanın çalışma grubu 41 doçent adayından oluşmaktadır. Derinlemesine görüşmelerle elde edilen veriler betimsel analize tabi tutulmuştur. Çalışma sonuçlarına göre doçent adayları; başvuru koşulları, başvuru sistemi, eserlerin puanlanması, jüri belirleme ve değerlendirme süreci, başvuruların açıklanması, etik inceleme ile kurumsal iletişimle ilgili sorunlar yaşadıklarını dile getirmişlerdir. Doçentlik başvuru sürecinin şeffaf hâle getirilmesi, iletişim süreçlerinin geliştirilmesi ve adil değerlendirme ilkelerinin uygulanmasıyla yaşanan sorunların büyük bölümünün çözümlenebileceği belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışma ile son dönemde sıkça tartışılan değerlendirmede adalet ve liyakat ilkesinin önemi belirlenmiş, yükseköğretim literatürüne yeni ve özgün veri sunulmaya gayret edilmiştir. Ayrıca çalışmanın ÜAK’ın kurumsal yapısının geliştirilmesi ile yükseköğretim kalite çalışmalarına da katkı sunacağı düşünülmektedir. | |

| dc.subject | The purpose of this study is to bring to light the difficulties that individuals have encountered during the application and assessment procedure for associate professorships. Furthermore, viable solutions to the challenges encountered by the applicants were attempted to be devised. The group of the study, designed in phenomenological pattern, consists of 41 associate professor candidates. The data obtained from in-depth interviews was submitted to descriptive analysis. According to the study’s findings, associate professor candidates stated that there were issues with the application requirements, the application system, the scoring of the performances, the jury decision and assessment procedure, the application explanation, ethical review, and institutional communication. The majority of the issues may be resolved by making the associate professorship application process transparent, strengthening communication mechanisms, and employing fair assessment standards. The relevance of the concept of fairness and merit in the evaluation has been determined in this study, which has been addressed extensively in recent times, and it has been attempted to offer different and unique information to the higher education literature. In addition, it is thought that the study will contribute to higher education quality studies by improving the institutional structure of UAK. | en_US |
