Osmanlı tarihinde Tuna Nehri, yalnızca donanmanın bulunduğu ve sava?larda ismi geçen bir nehir değildir. Aynı zamanda nakliye ve ula?ım faaliyetlerinin yürütüldüğü bir suyoludur. Diğer taraftan Osmanlı Devleti?nde askerî, ekonomik ve sosyal hayatın önemli bir parçası olan Tuna Nehri hakkında yapılan çalı?maların sayısı oldukça azdır. Bu çalı?mada mali kayıtlar ba?ta olmak üzere XVII. yüzyılın son dönemlerine ait Osmanlı ar?iv belgeleri esas alınarak Osmanlı nehir donanması; bu ba?lık altında, kaptan pa?alar, donanma personeli, donanmadaki gemi ve kayık türleri, bunların bakım, onarım ve in?ası, ayrıca iskelelere getirilen zahirenin yıllara göre fiyat dağılımı, zahirenin saklanması ve nakliyesi, nakliye ücretleri, nakliyede ortaya çıkan sorunlar ve sorunların nasıl çözüldüğü gibi belli ba?lı konular ele alınmı?tır.
River Danube was not only a river associated with wars or a port where the navy was located during Ottoman history. It was also a waterway where shipping and transportation activities were carried out. Research indicates a few studies on the Danube, which, however, was an essential spot regarding the military activities as well as the economic and social life of the Ottoman Empire. This study examines the financial records of the late 17th century in the Ottoman archive documents about the Ottoman river navy with its elements such as captain pashas, navy personnel, types of ships and boats in the navy, and their maintenance, repair and construction. In addition, this study discusses the procurement of grain, concerning the stages from purchase to distribution, delivery to the piers, prices, storage, transportation of the purchased grain in warehouses, and transportation costs.
