Özet
In this study, above, below and total biomass values of Rhododendron ponticum were determined in Artvin, Turkey. In order to determine biomass values of Rhododendron ponticum, total 65 plots, each one is 5 X 5m size, were selected according to random sampling method. Steel cylinder, 35 cm length and 6.4 cm diameter was used to take root samples, and 5 samples were taken from each plot. Biomass regression equations of Rhododendron ponticum based on height and crown closure were determined with the help of biomass values obtained. It was determined that total biomass of Rhododendron ponticum was 24.46 ton/ha, while average above and belowground biomass of it were 16.06 ton/ha and 8.40 ton/ha, respectively. With this study, bioenergy potential and biomass equations of Rhododendron ponticum were revealed.
