| dc.description.abstract | Osmanlı’nın demokratikleşme ve açılım yıllarında devlet idarecileri ülkede yaşayan gayrimüslimler için eşitvatandaşlık hakları kabul ederek yayımladılar. Bu anlamda Osmanlı şehirlerinin birçoğunda olduğu gibi, Konya’dayaşayan azınlıklar da kendi eğitim kurumlarını açtılar.Tesis ettikleri bu okullarda eğitimin yanı sıra öğrenciler arasında birlikte iş yapma, arkadaşlık duygusunugeliştirme ve paylaşmayı kuvvetlendirecek sosyal faaliyetlere de yer verildi. Ön plana çıkarılan bu çalışmalararasında edebiyat kulübü, müzik kulübü, koro ve orkestra kulübü, tiyatro kulübünün yanında matbaa tesisindeyardımcı eleman gereksinimini giderme ile ağaçlandırma ve yeşillendirme çalışmaları yapabilme alanında kurslardüzenlediler. Bunlardan da öte “Tanrıya Adanmışlık” adı altında Hristiyanlığı öğretecek, farklı dinlere mensuptüm öğrencilere hafta boyu öğretmenleri nezaretinde, Pazar günleri ise Papazlar eşliğinde dini dersler verdirdiler.Planlanan akşamlarda ise bunu, yine bütün öğrencilere yönelik dini vaaz, ilahi ve dua etkinlikleri şeklinde devamettirdiler. Bu okullardan bunları yapanlar genelde Ermeni okullarıydı.Ermeni okullarının Konya sosyal hayatını etkileyecek ve halkıyla bütünleşecek daha farklı etkinlikleri de vardı.Bu faaliyetler yılda en az iki defa olmak üzere müzik konserleri ve tiyatro gösterileriydi. Tüm bu çalışmalarınfinansörü ise ABD’li misyonerlerin yanı sıra Konya’daki Alman tüccarlarıydı. Hatta Amerikalı misyonerler okulaçma işini daha da ileri götürerek “yabancılara tanınan yasal haklardan” dolayı Konya’da yaşayan Ermeniler adınayeni okullar tesis ettiler. | |
| dc.description.abstract | During the democratization and democratic initiative years of Ottoman Empire, the statesmen accepted and brought out equal citizenship for Non-Muslims within the Empire. Consequently, minorities in Konya also established their own educational institutions. In the schools they established, in addition to formal education, they also tried to encourage social activates which promote cooperation, friendship and sharing among students. Besides the literature club, the music club, the choir and orchestra club and the theater club, which were brought into the forefront, trainings to satisfy the need for auxiliary staff in the printing house and trainings for afforestation and greening were also given. Furthermore, in order to teach Christianity to students from different religions, they gave religious lessons by teachers during the weekdays and by priests on Sundays under the name of "Being Devoted to God”. In certain evenings, they continued these activities as religious sermons, chants and prayers for all students. It was usually the Armenian schools which did these activities. Armenian schools had also different activities which affected social life in Konya and promoted integration with the public in Konya. There were concerts and theatre performances which took place at least twice a year and these activities were financed by missionaries from the USA and as well as German merchants. Furthermore, these American missionaries established new schools for Armenians on the grounds of “legal rights given to foreigners”.
