dc.description.abstractBu araştırma da lisansüstü eğitim sürecinde danışmanından destek göremeyen ve akademik hayatta yalnız yürümek zorunda kalan öğrencilerin deneyimlerini anlamak ve bu deneyimlerden hareketle olguyu değerlendirmek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Çalışmaya katkı sağlayan katılımcılar amaçlı örnekleme, ölçüt örnekleme ve kartopu örnekleme ile seçilmiştir. Konuya ilişkin açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan yapılandırılmış soru formu yardımıyla 25 lisansüstü öğrenciden veri toplanmıştır. Katılımcı görüşleri çerçevesinde elde edilen veri seti üzerinde betimsel analiz ve tematik analiz teknikleri uygulanmıştır. Bu kapsamda veriler yazarlar tarafından tekraren okunarak, araştırma sorusuna yönelik ana temalar betimlenmiş, bu doğrultuda kodlamalar yapılarak temalar oluşturulmuştur. Elde edilen verilerin analizi sonucunda bulgular; “danışman yitiminin sebepleri”, “ilgisiz / yitik danışman”, “danışman yitimi yaşayan öğrenciler”, “danışman ilgisizliğinden / yitiminden kurtulma çabaları” ve “danışman yitiminin sonuçları” olmak üzere beş temada betimlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda “danışman yitimi” olarak ortaya çıkan kavram tanımlanmış, danışmanların zamanla yitirilmiş danışmana doğru evrilmesinin nedenleri tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin ilgisiz kalmasında danışmanların alana hâkim olmaması, kişilik özellikleri ve öğrenciyi sahiplenmemesi gibi hususlar ön plana çıkmıştır.
dc.description.abstractThis study aims to understand the experiences of students who are not supported by their advisors during their postgraduate education and who have to navigate the academic terrain alone, and to analyze the phenomenon based on these experiences. The qualitative research method was used in the study. The participants were selected by purposeful sampling, criterion sampling, and snowball sampling. Data was collected from 25 graduate students with the help of a structured questionnaire consisting of open-ended questions. Descriptive analysis and thematic analysis techniques were applied on the data set. The data were read repeatedly by the authors, the main themes related to the research question were described, and themes were created by coding accordingly. The results revealed five themes: “Reasons for Advisor Loss,” “Indifferent/Missing Advisor,” “Students Experiencing Advisor Loss,” “Efforts to Eliminate Advisor Indifference/Loss,” and “Consequences of Advisor Loss.” The concept of “advisor loss” was defined, and the reasons for this loss occurring over time were identified. In addition, issues such as the advisors’ lack of knowledge in the field, their personality traits, and their lack of sincere care about the student emerged as factors contributing to the students’ lack of interest.
