In the global food sector, which is a laboratory that clearly demonstrates state-market relations and transformations in capitalism, the neo-liberal tendencies, on the one hand, and the rise of neo-mercantilist tendencies have led to the characterization of the current food regime as a hybrid regime. The fact that China's agricultural direct foreign investments, especially under the leadership of state-owned companies, is gradually increasing and these investments are mostly realized in the form of mergers & acquisitions, can increase the weight of China in the global food regime. To meet the food needs of its growing population and to ensure food safety and to have a say in the global food economy by integrating it into the production and value chains, these activities of China have led to a rethinking of the global food regime. In this context, the study will examine the increasing role of China in the global food regime and its impact on the global food policies and the current food regime.
