Nuclear energy is a low-cost and highly efficient way for countries to generate energy. Although the first attempts to use nuclear energy began in the 1930s, its first use as an effective weapon of mass destruction dates back to World War II. While the use of nuclear energy continues today - even if it is used for peaceful purposes - the risks it carries bring about intense debates on the use of nuclear energy. Today, Turkey is one of the countries attempting to generate nuclear energy. Turkey, which continues to build nuclear power plants, is also under high risk due to the nuclear power plants in neighboring countries. This study aims to determine the level of Turkey's exposure to nuclear risk using the L matrix risk analysis method. In this context, calculations were made to determine the risk level of Turkey's neighbors Armenia, Iran, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Russia for five different hazard situations. In this context, Armenia/Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant, Ukraine nuclear power plants, Iran/Buschrehr Nuclear Power Plant were determined as the countries with the highest risk level in the specified hazard situations.
