| dc.description.abstract | Sınırların tarihsel-sosyolojik açıdan inşası geleneksel toplumdan modern topluma dönüşüm sürecinde gerçekleştiğinden, Türkiye’de bu dönüşüm Osmanlı’nın son döneminden Cumhuriyet’in erken dönemine karşılık gelir. Bu çalışma, Türkiye’de sınırların tarihsel-sosyolojik açıdan inşasını anlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Osmanlı’dan Cumhuriyet’e geçiş, Türkiye’de sınırların imparatorluktan ulus-devlete, ümmetten ulusa ve coğrafyadan vatana dönüşümünü göstermektedir. Osmanlı’nın son döneminde devleti kurtarmakla sembolize edilen sınırlar, Cumhuriyet’e geçişle birlikte milliyetçilik temelinde Türk ulus-devletini inşa etmenin bir aracına dönüşmüştür. Kemalist Türk devrimi, modern, Batılı ve laik bir Cumhuriyet kurarak Osmanlı-İslami gelenekle arasına bir sınır çekmiştir. Kemalist milliyetçilik, Türk ulusal kimliğini Anadolu topraklarını çevreleyen sınırlar içinde inşa etmiş ve sınırlar bu kimliğin uçlarını oluşturmuştur. Osmanlı’dan Cumhuriyet’e geçiş Müslümanların vatan algılarını dönüştürmüş ve Anadolu toprakları yeni vatanın adı olmuştur. Kemalizm’in laiklik ilkesi, Türkiye’nin İslam dünyasındaki seküler sınırını sembolize etmektedir. “Hudut namustur” ve “anavatan” söylemleri, Türkiye’de sınırların milliyetçi-cinsiyetçi bir şekilde inşa edildiğini göstermektedir. Neticede, Türkiye’de sınırların modernleşme, din, sekülerizm, milliyetçilik, ulusal kimlik ve toplumsal cinsiyet kimlikleri bağlamında inşa edildiği gözlenmiştir. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Since the historical-sociological construction of borders takes place in the transformation process from traditional to modern society in Türkiye, this transformation corresponds to the late Ottoman period to the early Republican period. This study aims to understand the historical-sociological construction of borders in Turkey. The transition from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic shows the transformation of borders in Turkey from empire to nationstate, from ummah to nation, and from geography to homeland. The borders, symbolized by saving the state in the last period of the Ottoman Empire, turned into a tool for building the Turkish nation-state based on nationalism with the transition to the Republic. The Kemalist Turkish revolution drew a border under the Ottoman-Islamic tradition by establishing a modern, Western, and secular Republic. Kemalist nationalism constructed the Turkish national identity within the borders surrounding the Anatolian lands, and the borders formed the ends of this identity. The transition from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic transformed Muslims' perception of their homeland, and Anatolian lands became the name of the new homeland. Kemalism's principle of secularism symbolizes Turkey's secular border in the Islamic world. Based on the discourses of “border is honor” and “motherland,” borders in Turkey have been manifested in a nationalist and gendered manner. As a result, it is seen that borders in Turkey symbolize the construction of identities through the themes of modernization, religion, secularism, nationalism, national identity, and gender. | |
