Özet
19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısından itibaren büyük savaşlar ve toplumsal değişimler, sanatın içeriğini ve işlevini derinden etkilemiştir. Endüstri Devrimiyle birlikte sanatçılar yeni malzemeler ve teknikler deneyerek geleneksel sanat anlayışından uzaklaşmaya başlamışlardır. Bu büyük değişim sanatın içeriğini ve işlevini değiştirirdi. Sanatçılar endüstriyel çağın getirdiği yeni malzemeleri kullanarak yeni teknikler denedikleri deneysel bir döneme girdiler. Bu süreçte cinsiyet rolleri, tüketim kültürü ve sınıf farkları gibi konular üzerine yoğunlaşan sanatçılar, farklı ifade biçimleri geliştirmişlerdir. 1960 sonrası dönemde sanat, estetik boyuttan kavramsal boyuta geçerek metaforik anlatım biçimlerinin öne çıktığı yeni bir döneme girmiştir. Bu çalışma, 19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısından itibaren modern sanat akımlarında sanatçıların kullandığı hazır nesneler ve metaforik anlatım biçimlerini, sanatçılar ve eserler üzerinden literatür taraması ile incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır.
Since the second half of the 19th century, major wars and social transformations have impacted content and function of art. With Industrial Revolution, artists began to move away from traditional art practices by experimenting with new materials and techniques. This change transformed content and function of art. Artists entered experimental period when they used new materials and explored new techniques. Artists on themes as gender roles, consumer culture, and class differences developed different expression. After 1960 art shifted from aesthetic dimension to conceptual one, entering new era where metaphorical expression became important. This study addresses ready-made object use and metaphorical expression form in modern art from second half of the 19th century, through literature review of artists and their works.
