Özet
Bu çalışmada romanların değerler eğitimine etkileri irdelenmiştir. Bir estetik deneyim olarak romanın, bireyin kendisini ve çevreyi tanımasında önemli olabileceği, karakterleri aracılığıyla ona rol modeller sunabileceği belirtilmiştir. Yorum kısmında ise Oğuz Atay’ın Tutunamayanlar ve Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar’ın Huzur romanları, yaşama yükledikleri değer bağlamında karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir. Yapılan incelemede iki romanın da hayatı yaşayarak tecrübe etmenin önemine vurgu yaptığı tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde ise roman ve değerler eğitimi ilişkisi hakkında bir takım önerilere yer verilmiştir.
The study discusses the effects of novels on values education. It has been indicated that the novel might be important in the recognition of self and the environment as an aesthetic experience, and can provide the role models to the individual through its characters. In the commentary section, the selected novels Tutunamayanlar (The Good for Nothing) and Huzur (A Mind at Peace) have been examined comparatively in the context of the value, which they brougt into life. It is determined that both novels have emphasized the importance of experiencing the life. In the conclusion section, it is dealt with some proposals about the relationship between novels and values education
