    Hydrophite plant species naturally distributed in Artvin province and their medicinal-aromatic uses

    Artvin Province, with 2,727 plant taxa, is Turkey’s richest region in terms of plant diversity. This study aimed to list the hydrophyte plant species distributed in Artvin and its districts, quantify them based on aquatic plant types, sample them from the field, and determine their medicinal-aromatic uses. Floristic studies conducted between 2013 and 2024 identified natural plant species growing in aquatic habitats, and their habitat, flowering period, and medicinal-aromatic uses were documented. A total of 236 hydrophyte taxa belonging to 48 families and 135 genera were identified in Artvin Province. When categorized by habitat, 160 species were classified as marsh hydrophytes, 56 species as amphibious hydrophytes, 2 species as free-floating hydrophytes, 9 species as fixed-floating hydrophytes, and 8 species as submerged hydrophytes. The families with the highest number of species were Poaceae (45 taxa), followed by Cyperaceae (43 taxa), and Lamiaceae (10 taxa). 126 taxa were found to have medicinal uses, while 109 taxa had no recorded medicinal-aromatic uses. Additionally, threats and threat categories for these species were identified and documented.

    Honey plants of Artvin (Türkiye)

    In this study, information about nectar and pollen plants crucial in beekeeping activities in Artvin province is presented. The aim of the research is to identify, introduce, and highlight the floristic richness of honey plants in the vicinity of Artvin province for beekeeping purposes. Through the examination of related studies, 789 plant taxa belonging to 355 genera and 91 families that honey bees (Apis mellifera) can benefit from were identified. 90 taxon were determined only within the scope of this study. The scientific and Turkish names, habitats, and active flowering periods important for bees were provided for these identified taxa. Lamiaceae are the largest families represented by 78 taxa each, followed by Rosaceae with 65 taxa, Asteraceae with 63 taxa, Fabaceae with 58 taxa and Apiaceae with 33 taxa. Moreover, it was determined that 600 out of the 789 plant taxa that can be used as nectar and pollen sources. This study provides information about the distribution in Artvin province, their respective families, Latin and Turkish names, districts where they are found, habitats, and active flowering periods for some plants crucial for beekeeping. Due to the absence of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and other chemical substances for weed and pest control, the region holds significant potential for organic honey production. The high-quality organic honey produced in the region is in demand nationwide, enabling beekeepers to generate substantial income from honey production.

    Collaborative learning in preschool education: Teacher perspectives and practices

    One of the methods used to achieve desired learning outcomes in preschool education is collaborative learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the views and practices of preschool teachers regarding collaborative learning, which is a basic qualitative study. Data were collected through a demographic information form, semistructured interviews, structured observations, and examination of activity schedules. Descriptive analysis and document review methods were used to analyze the data. According to the findings, most teachers defined collaborative learning as cooperation and group work. They emphasized the contributions of these practices to children's socio-emotional development, improvement of communication skills, and adaptability. In addition, teachers expressed a preference for implementing collaborative learning, particularly in arts activities, and noted that the lack of cooperation among children could complicate the process. Observations and examination of activity plans revealed that teachers encouraged children to work together, intervened when necessary, and supported multidirectional communication between children within groups. In addition, similarities and differences between collaborative learning plans and their implementation were observed.

    Acil servise COVID-19 şüphesi ile başvuran hastaların ölüm kaygı düzeyi

    Amaç: Bu çalışma acil servise COVID-19 şüphesi ile başvuru yapan kişilerin ölüme yönelik kaygı düzeyleri ve etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi amacıyla planlanmıştır. Yöntem: Araştırma tanımlayıcı kesitsel tipte planlanmıştır. Araştırma, Artvin Devlet Hastanesi Acil Servisinde Ağustos 2022-Mart 2023 tarihleri arasında yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın evrenini araştırmanın yapıldığı tarihlerde acil servise COVID-19 şüphesi ile başvuran ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 18 yaş üstü 25,467 kişi oluşturmaktadır. G*Power 3.1.9.7 programı ile %90 (1-α) güven düzeyi, %95(1-β) güç ve orta etki büyüklüğü (d=0,5) hedef alınarak yapılan analiz sonucu gereken minimum örneklem sayısı 290 kişi olarak belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak 370 örneklem ile araştırma tamamlanmıştır. Verilerin toplanması amacıyla sosyodemografik soru formu ve Thorson-Powell Ölüm Kaygısı Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Çalışma verilerinin istatistiksel değerlendirilmesinde SPSS 25.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 32,5±10,5’tir. Yüzde %48,4’ü kadın, %51,6’sı erkek, %95,7’sinin eğitim düzeyi lise ve üzeri, %4,9’unun kronik hastalığı mevcuttur. Katılımcıların %36,5’i daha önce COVID-19 geçirmiş, %94,9’u en az bir doz aşı yaptırmıştır. Katılımcıların Thorson-Powell Ölüm Kaygısı Ölçeği puan ortalaması 56,66±13,52 olarak belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: COVID-19 pandemisiyle birlikte bireylerde orta düzeyde ölüm kaygısı geliştiği belirlenmiştir.

    The economy disembedded: Property and development today from a Polanyian perspective

    This article analyzes the link between property and economic development through Karl Polanyi's theories. The question is whether his fundamental argument, positing that capitalism is not a natural system but rather a constructed social order that deeply transforms societal structures, has any counterpart or validity in today's economy. Central to this is Polanyi's concept of "disembedding"—the process of separating the economy from its social and political foundations to function by its own self-regulating logic. A key mechanism of disembedding is the treatment of land, labor, and money as "fictitious commodities." Forcing these entities into a market framework creates inherent instability, provoking protective "counter-movements." Thus, state intervention is not a market distortion but an inevitable response to a disembedded economy's destructive effects. The article applies this framework to contemporary globalization, linking increased inequality to neoliberal policies (deregulation, privatization) that accelerated disembedding. In contrast, Polanyi's ideal of an "embedded economy" calls for markets to be reintegrated within social and moral norms. Consequently, modern inequalities are seen not as temporary failures but as structural flaws of capitalism. True development requires understanding the economy as part of social life, not its master.

    Investigation of the relationship between antioxidant levels and body mass index and obesity

    Objective: Today, it is well known that obesity plays a role in the pathogenesis of many diseases, and one of these mechanisms of action is oxidative stress. There are many studies on the formation of oxidative stress in obesity, but its effect on young adults (18-35 years old) is not fully known. Methods: In this context, we investigated oxidative stress levels by measuring oxidant (MDA) and antioxidant (SOD) parameters in young adult obese and overweight individuals with ELISA method. Our hypothesis is that the oxidant parameter (MDA) is high and the antioxidant parameter (SOD) is low in young adult obese individuals due to oxidative stress. Results: According to the study results, a statistically significant difference was found in the SOD and MDA values of overweight individuals (P<.001) and a statistical difference was found in the SOD and MDA values of obese individuals (P<.05). According to the results of our study, oxidative stress is high not only in obese but also in overweight individuals. In fact, a higher rate of oxidative stress was observed in overweight individuals compared to obese individuals. Conclusion: These data show us the importance of weight control in preventing the development of diseases by preventing the formation of oxidative stress. With further research, the effect of oxidative stress in young individuals will be understood more clearly.

    Paramedik öğrencilerinin ekip çalışması tutumları ile travma hastalarına yaklaşımlarının ilişkisi

    Araştırmada, paramedik öğrencilerinin ekip çalışması tutumları ile travma hastalarına yaklaşımları arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Acil sağlık hizmetlerinde ekip çalışması, hasta güvenliği ve etkili müdahale için kritik bir faktör olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Travma yönetiminde ekip içi uyum ve etkili iletişim, zamanında ve doğru müdahalelerin gerçekleştirilmesini sağlamaktadır. Araştırma Türkiye’nin kuzeydoğusundaki bir üniversitenin İlk ve Acil Yardım Programı’nda öğrenim gören 1. ve 2. Sınıf (n=123) öğrencileri ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplamada, “Travma Hastalarına Yaklaşım Ölçeği” ve “Ekip Çalışması Tutumları Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 20.00±1.37 olarak belirlenmiştir. Ekip Çalışması Tutum Ölçeği puanları 28 ile 140 arasında değişmekte olup, ortalama 114.48±17.47 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Travma Hastalarına Yaklaşım Ölçeği puanları ise 11 ile 55 arasında değişmekte olup, ortalama 48.08±6.91 olarak bulunmuştur. Kadın katılımcılar, erkeklere kıyasla anlamlı derecede daha yüksek travma hastalarına yaklaşım puanına sahipken (p<0.05), ekip çalışması tutum puanlarında cinsiyete bağlı anlamlı bir fark saptanmamıştır (p>0.05). Ekip çalışması tutum puanları 1. sınıf öğrencilerinde anlamlı derecede daha yüksek bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Ayrıca, travma yönetiminde yetersiz ekipmanın varlığı, travma hastalarına yaklaşım puanlarını anlamlı düzeyde artıran bir faktör olarak belirlenmiştir (p<0.05). Ekip çalışması tutum puanları, travma hastalarına yaklaşım puanlarındaki olumlu değişimin %49,3’ünü açıklamaktadır (R²=0.493, F(1,121)=117.8, p<0.001). Sonuç olarak, araştırma ilk ve acil yardım programı öğrencilerinin ekip çalışmasına yönelik tutumlarının, travma hastalarına yaklaşımlarını önemli ölçüde etkilediğini göstermiştir. Bu kapsamda ilk ve acil yardım programı eğitim müfredatında ekip çalışmasına yönelik uygulamaların artırılması önerilmektedir.

    Effects of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation in individuals with primary dysmenorrhea: A randomized controlled trial

    Background and aims: Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) is a promising neuromodulation therapy with proved efficacy in treating various conditions, such as migraine, depression, abdominal pain, constipation, stroke, and sleep disorders. However, no randomized controlled trials have evaluated the effects of taVNS in patients with primary dysmenorrhea (PwPD). This study aims to investigate the impact of taVNS on pain, functional and emotional symptoms, and physical performance in PwPD. Materials and methods: In this study, conducted over two menstrual cycles, 34 PwPD were randomly assigned (1:1) to the taVNS or Sham groups. The treatment protocol comprised taVNS or sham treatment for five consecutive days, starting five days before the expected second menstrual period. The Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), pressure pain threshold (PPT), the Menstrual Symptom Questionnaire (MSQ), the Functional and Emotional Measure of Dysmenorrhea (FEMD), the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAM-A), and the 6-Minute Walking Test (6MWT) were evaluated at the first and subsequent menstrual cycles. Results: The difference between the groups was significant, favoring the taVNS group in the NRS, PPT, MSQ, FEMD, HAM-A, and 6MWT (for all, p < 0.05). Time, treatment, and time × treatment interaction were found to have significant effects on all treatment parameters except 6MWT (for all, p < 0.05). Conclusion: PwPD may benefit from taVNS, given it has shown efficacy in alleviating pain and menstrual symptoms while improving physical performance. Clinical trial registration: The Clinicaltrials.gov registration number for the study is NCT06146569.

    Computational and experimental analysis of oleanolic acid as an allosteric activator of SIRT1

    Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) is a member of the sirtuin protein family and the biological effects of SIRT1 encompass various areas such as the ageing process, metabolism regulation, and cellular stress response. SIRT1 activators are compounds that enhance the activity of SIRT1 enzyme. These activators can be natural or synthetic compounds and have the potential to provide health benefits by augmenting the biological effects of SIRT1. Oleanolic acid (OA) is a triterpenoid compound that has antiinflammatory, antioxidant, and glucose and lipid metabolism-regulating properties naturally found in many plants. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of OA on SIRT1 activation and its underlying mechanism. SIRT1 activity was determined by ELISA in rat serum and liver and kidney tissue. SIRT1 activity was significantly higher in the OA-treated rats compared to the control group. Moreover, through the use of computational methods, the study examined the potential of OA as an allosteric compound for SIRT1. The findings revealed that OA demonstrated a greater affinity for the allosteric site than resveratrol did and may lead to a similar increase in SIRT1 activity. The findings of both experimental and computational studies were complementary, which led to the conclusion that OA serves as a positive regulator of SIRT1 activity.

    Gynecological cancer awareness and determination of healthy lifestyle levels among women in Türkiye

    Objective: This study aimed to assess gynecological cancer awareness and healthy lifestyle levels among women in Türkiye.Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional design was applied with 656 women from various Turkish regions. Data were collectedusing a sociodemographic form, the Gynecological Cancer Awareness Scale, and the Healthy Lifestyle Screening Scale.Results: The median gynecological cancer awareness score was 147.00, and the median healthy lifestyle score was 95.00. A positive,significant correlation was found between awareness and healthy lifestyle scores (r s = 0.359; p < 0.001). Awareness differedsignificantly by education, employment, motherhood, gynecological examination and Pap smear frequency, cancer knowledge,fear of cancer, and age (p < 0.05). Healthy lifestyle scores were significantly related to income, smoking, perceived health, andregular exercise (p < 0.05).Conclusions: Women generally demonstrated above-average gynecological cancer awareness, and higher awareness was linkedto healthier lifestyles. Overall, 1.2% had a very low, 14.6% low, 75.9% good, and 8.3% very good healthy lifestyle level. These findingssuggest that nurses should implement educational and counseling programs to enhance women’s gynecological cancer awarenessand promote healthy lifestyle behaviors.

    Comparative molecular docking analysis of carbapenem antibiotics with NDM-1 and OXA-23 Β-lactamases: Insights into binding mechanisms

    Objective: This study aimed to investigate the molecular interactions between carbapenem antibiotics (imipenem and meropenem) and two (3-lactamase enzymes, NDM-1 (class B) and OXA-23 (class D), to understand the structural basis of carbapenem resistance. Methods: The study employed molecular docking methods using the crystal structures and homology models of the NDM-1 and OXA-23 enzymes to analyze binding affinities and interaction patterns. Results: The results revealed distinct binding characteristics for each enzyme. NDM-1 exhibited a polar, hydrophobic active site, with imipenem forming hydrogen bonds with ASP124, ASN220, and LYS211, while meropenem relied on weaker interactions like Van der Waals forces. In contrast, OXA-23 featured a hydrophobic cavity with charged residues, where imipenem bonded with ARG259 and meropenem interacted with SER79, TRP219, and ARG259. A key finding was the significantly lower binding energy for the OXA-23-imipenem complex in the crystal structure (-8.06 kcal/mol) compared to its homology model (-5.34 kcal/mol), highlighting the importance of accurate structural representation. The study demonstrated strong agreement between the computational and experimental data. Conclusion: These findings provide critical insights into the structural basis of carbapenem resistance, offering potential avenues for designing inhibitors to combat (3-lactamase-mediated antibiotic resistance. The integrated approach validates the utility of computational methods in elucidating molecular interactions and guiding therapeutic strategies.

    Molecular phylogeny of medicinal-aromatic plant Osmanthus decorus from Artvin, Türkiye

    Aim of study: The white flowers of Osmanthus species have been valued for centuries in medicinal and aromatic applications due to their distinct fragrance and chemical composition. Among the 27 species distributed globally, Osmanthus decorus is the only species endemic to the Caucasus region, found in Russia, Georgia, and Türkiye. O. decorus has a distinct distribution area around Artvin but has not been sufficiently studied at the molecular level regarding its differentiation from other species. Material and method: This study focuses on identifying the molecular differences between Turkish O. decorus samples and other species while constructing their phylogenies. Phylogenetic relationships were analyzed using Bayesian inference with universal DNA barcode markers (nrDNA ITS and cpDNA matK). Main results: The nuclear and chloroplast data were consistent, and all Caucasian Osmanthus specimens clustered into a strongly supported monophyletic group. As a result of the Bayesian analysis, it was determined that O. decorus does not clearly separate from other species within the genus. Research highlights: According to the results of BLAST analysis, it was determined that the samples from Russia and Georgia, which are geographically close to the samples from Türkiye, were 100% matched.

    Aphid species (Hemiptera: Aphididae) on medicinal-aromatic plants in Artvin (Türkiye)

    Medicinal and aromatic plants have recently gained popularity, contributing to the economic strength of countries or regions by increasing employment opportunities and representing the areas where they are grown, thus creating various tourism possibilities. However, exposure of these plants to insect groups consuming plant sap, such as aphids, in their natural or unnatural habitats can lead to product loss. There are 350 species of plants exhibiting medicinal-aromatic properties in Artvin province. In this study, medicinal-aromatic plant species distributed in the province were evaluated in terms of aphid population, and 80 aphid species were identified from 72 medicinal-aromatic plants. According to the data obtained from the fields, the highest number of aphid species were found on apple (Malus sylvestris), poplar (Populus nigra), plum (Prunus spp.) and oak (Quercus petreae) species respectively. Aphids were rarely found in medicinal-aromatic plants that give off a strong odor, such as thyme and mint, and it was observed that they did not form dense populations. It was determined that the identified aphid species generally formed dense populations on the leaf surface of fruit-bearing species while they fed on stems and leaves in annual species. To conclude, the study highlights the significant impact of aphid populations on the medicinal-aromatic plants in Artvin, underscoring the need for continuous monitoring and effective management strategies to protect the plants and the economic opportunities they represent.

    Investigation of the long-term effects of pandemic vaccines on physical and cognitive performance after the pandemic

    Introduction:The present study compared the post-pandemic effects of different vaccines and vaccine combinations administered during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic in individuals defined as “young-elderly.” Materials and Method: Participants included 440 volunteers who met the inclusion criteria. They were divided into four groups based on the type of vaccine they had received. During data collection, participants completed a Personal Information Form, the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, the 36-item Short Form Health Survey, and the Alusti Test. The study was conducted between December 15, 2024, and May 29, 2025.Data were analyzed using SPSS version 28.0. Results: The analyses revealed a statistically significant difference between groups in both the Alusti test (assesses physical performance) and the 36-item Short Form Health Survey (assesses quality of life) (p<0.05).This difference was particularly pronounced in the group that received the combination of BioNTech and Sinovac vaccines;it hadlower scores on physical performance and quality of life compared to the other groups. Cognitive performance did not differ significantly between the groups (p>0.05). Conclusion:Therefore,the coronavirus disease vaccines may have varying long-term effects on the individual’s overall health status and quality of life.

    Antimicrobial activity and bioactive compound profile of extracts from tanacetum parthenium and salvia glutinosa naturally growing in Artvin province, Türkiye

    Medicinal and aromatic plants have gained prominence in pharmaceutical research due to the bioactive compounds they contain. The aim of this study is to determine the antimicrobial effects of methanol and ethanol extracts obtained from the aerial parts of Tanacetum parthenium and Salvia glutinosa plants, which naturally grow in the Artvin region, and to analyze the bioactive compounds present in these extracts. The antimicrobial activities of the extracts were evaluated by the disk diffusion method, and four bacterial strains Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 25923), Enterococcus faecalis (ATCC 29212), Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922), Bacillus spizizenii (ATCC 6633), and the yeast Candida albicans (ATCC 10231) were used in the studies. The leaf extracts of T. parthenium showed activity against S. aureus, B. spizizenii, and E. faecalis, while the flower extracts exhibited antimicrobial activity only against S. aureus and B. spizizenii. The highest antimicrobial effect was observed in the leaf extract of S. glutinosa obtained with 96% ethanol, which was found to be more effective than the commercial antibiotic. Furthermore, HPLC analysis revealed that the main compound in both plant extracts was coumaric acid, and some phenolic compounds detected in these plants were reported for the first time in this study.

    Premenstrual syndrome levels and eating attitudes among university students

    Background: Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is the combination of physical, behavioral, and psychological symptoms that characterize the week leading up to menstruation, and it can last for a few days. This study aimed to investigate irregular PMS, eating attitude behavior, and body mass index values among university students.Methods: The study sample consisted of 140 Artvin Coruh University students studying Nutrition and Dietetics. The study includes questions from three separate sections. The first section contains a sociodemographic characteristic form, the second section consists of the Premenstrual Syndrome Scale (PMSS), and the third section includes the 26-item Eating Attitude Test (EAT-26).Results: In this study, the mean total score for PMSS was 135 +/- 38.3, and the mean total score for EAT-26 was 17.0 +/- 10.8. Individuals with irregular sleep patterns experienced more severe PMS (p < 0.01) and a shorter daily sleep duration (p < 0.05).Conclusions: High percentages of nutrition and dietetics students in our study experienced PMS, and the incidence of eating disorders was low. The relationship between PMS and EAT-26 must be understood for the health and well-being of university students.

    Determination of individuals’ attitudes toward COVID-19 vaccines and health fatalism: A cross-sectional study from Turkey

    Background: Vaccines have positive effects on the course of epidemics. This study was conducted to determine individuals' attitudes toward coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) vaccines, their health fatalism, and factors affecting these.Methods: This cross-sectional study included 944 participants living in Turkey, who were included in the study by snowball sampling, one of the nonprobability random sampling methods. Participant information form, attitudes toward the COVID-19 vaccine scale, and religious health fatalism scale were used to collect the study data. Independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance and Pearson correlation analysis were used in the data analysis.Results: Participants had mean positive attitudes toward COVID-19 vaccine score of 3.63 & PLUSMN; 1.14, mean negative attitudes toward COVID-19 vaccine score of 3.44 & PLUSMN; 0.91, and mean health fatalism score of 45.75 & PLUSMN; 17.43. Negative and significant correlations were found between participants' mean health fatalism score and their mean positive attitudes score (r = -0.213) and their mean negative attitude score (r = -0.362) (p < 0.001).Conclusions: Individuals were found to have high positive and low negative attitudes toward COVID-19 vaccines and moderate levels of health fatalism. Individuals with high health fatalism had low positive and high negative attitudes toward COVID-19 vaccines.

    Anatomical examination of humerus, radius and ulna fractures in 18-64 year old individuals applying to the emergency department

    This study, it was aimed to anatomically examine the fractures of the humerus, radius, and ulna, which have a significant admission rate in emergency departments, and to explain the relationship between different fracture parameters. The anatomical distribution of humerus, radius, and ulna fractures in 239 patients who presented to Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Hospital between 2012 and 2018 were retrospectively investigated. Participants were between the ages of 18-64 years and were diagnosed with a fracture in only one bone. It has been found that fractures are more common in men and in the 18-44 age group (p<0.01). While falls are the most common cause of radius fractures, humerus fractures occur more frequently as due to traffic accidents (p<0.01). While distal fractures were more common in the radius, corpus fractures were more common in the humerus (p<0.01). Surgical intervention was more commonly performed for humeral fractures compared to radius fractures (p<0.01). Surgical intervention is more commonly observed in the treatment of corpus fractures, while it is less frequently observed in distal fractures (p<0.01). The distribution of upper extremity fractures of the humerus, radius, and ulna in the emergency department varies according to sex, age group, type of trauma, surgical intervention and anatomical localisation.

    Effects of walking on mobility, balance and anthropometric measurements in individuals with mechanical low back pain

    Aim: This study aims to investigate the effects of walking on mobility, balance and anthropometric measurements. Material and Method: Our study included individuals with mechanical low back pain, who were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. After the waist and hip circumference measurements of the participants who completed the personal information form, a 40 meter fast walking test was performed together with the Timed Up and Go test. The experimental group practiced treadmill walking while the control group continued to take normal care. Evaluations were performed before and after treatment. The results were evaluated in SPSS 22 software program. Results: No significant differences were observed regarding the demographic characteristics of the participants in our study. However, a notable improvement was identified in the outcomes of the mobility evaluation test (p<0.05). Statistically significant differences were also observed in anthropometric measurements in the low back and hip region (p<0.05). Conclusion: As a result of our study, it was shown that walking exercise produced significant changes in mobility, balance and anthropometric measurements of individuals.

    Mapping the critical current density distribution in bulk YBCO superconductors using sequential Gaussian simulation

    Bulk Y123 samples with different compositions were produced by both the Top-Seeded Melt-Growth (TSMG), with a NdBCO/YBCO/MgO film (300 nm NdBCO with 20 nm YBCO buffer layer on MgO substrate) seed, and Melt-Powder-Melting-Growth (MPMG) methods. Each sample was cut into 21 small specimens after the annealing process. Magnetization measurements of the 15 specimens selected from the symmetrical regions of each cutting sample were performed. All specimens' superconducting transition temperature (Tc) values were determined to be around 92 K from the magnetization-temperature graphs. Based on the extended Bean model, the specimens' critical current densities (Jc) were calculated from the magnetization hysteresis loops. Intermediate value estimation was made with Sequential Gaussian Simulation (SGS) for the unmeasured samples using the Jc values of the measured samples. The Jc distribution maps were obtained throughout each sample for different applied magnetic fields, and the results were compared.
