The study examined the relationship between paramedic students’ teamwork attitudes and their approaches to trauma patients. Teamwork in emergency health services is considered a critical factor for patient safety and effective intervention. In trauma management, team harmony and effective communication ensure timely and accurate interventions. The study was conducted with first- and second-year students (n=123) enrolled in the Paramedic Program at a university located in the northeastern region of Turkey. “Trauma Patients Approach Scale” and “Teamwork Attitudes Scale” were used in data collection. The mean age of the participants was determined to be 20.00±1.37. Teamwork Attitude Scale scores ranged from 28 to 140, with a mean of 114.48±17.47. Trauma Patient Approach Scale scores ranged from 11 to 55, with a mean of 48.08±6.91. Female participants had significantly higher scores in approaches to trauma patients compared to males (p<0.05), whereas no statistically significant difference was found in teamwork attitude scores based on gender (p>0.05). Teamwork attitude scores were found to be significantly higher among first-year students (p<0.05). In addition, the presence of inadequate equipment in trauma management was identified as a significant factor that increased the scores related to approaches to trauma patients (p<0.05). Teamwork attitude scores explained 49.3% of the positive variance in trauma approach scores (R²=0.493, F(1,121)=117.8, p<0.001). In conclusion, the study showed that the attitudes of first and emergency aid program students towards teamwork significantly affect their approach to trauma patients. In this context, it is recommended to increase the practices towards teamwork in the first and emergency aid program education curriculum.
