Özet
This study aims to analyze the posts made by Prof. Dr. Ziya Selçuk, who served as the Minister of National Education between 2018–2020, on his personal Twitter account. When the article was written, 1138 posts were made, and the interaction rates for the identified content were calculated. Examples of tweets subject to the study were coded and tabulated thematically by considering the six-month periods. “Face-to-face education after the pandemic, EBA (Education Information Network), distance education, pandemic, innovations (2023 vision-projects), students with special needs, teachers, vocational high schools, high schools and youth, natural disasters, Ziya Selçuk’s identity as a teacher, MEB publications, administrators, family, and children” are the topics subject to thematic content analysis. The three months before and after the pandemic were analyzed separately to see the different outcomes of the possible effects of the pandemic. While the connection between nationalism and education (Strong teacher, strong Turkey), the 2023 vision document, Ziya Selçuk’s identity as a teacher, the fact that he is a name from the world of education, and the uncertainties during the pandemic period increased the interaction rates, the fatigue caused by the pandemic and the debates in the media on political issues decreased the interaction rates.
