Özet
Aim. The aim of this study is to evaluate the case diagnosed with meningioma during pregnancy and to present the individualized postoperative nursing process.Material and methods. Gordon's Functional Health Patterns Model was used to assess the case. The nursing process was established by utilizing the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association-International, Taxonomy II, nursing diagnoses.Results. In the nursing process of the case, nursing diagnoses were included in the domains of health perception/health management pattern, nutritional/metabolic pattern, elimination pattern, activity/exercise pattern, sleep/rest pattern, cognitive/perceptual pattern, self-perception/self-concept pattern, roles/relationships pattern, coping/stress tolerance pattern, sexuality/reproductive pattern and values/beliefs pattern. The nursing process was established in accordance with these diagnoses.Conclusions. Through this case report we would like to highlight relevance of using Gordon's Functional Health Patterns Model for assessing the pregnant patient with meningioma and planning the postoperative nursing process. It is thought that the case report will be guide and support the nurses who care for pregnant patients with menegioma.
