Özet

The Egyptian Jewish community has existed in Egypt for centuries; however, since the second half of the 20th century, the issue of Jewish emigration has been a prominent agenda item. Various discriminatory practices have been initiated against the Jewish population, including arbitrary arrest and confiscation of assets. Moreover, the issue of citizenship has been an additional factor affecting the immigration process. This study will examine the immigration process and international reactions to the sanctions against Jews and the issue of citizenship. The study will utilize the Israeli State, American, British, and Turkish Diplomatic Archives as source materials.
