| dc.description.abstract | A phthalonitrile derivative 4-{4-[(E)-(thiophen-2-ylmethylidene)amino]phenoxy}phthalonitrile (2) and its Co(II) and Cu(II) phthalocyanine derivatives (2a, 2b) are reported. The compounds have been characterized by spectroscopic techniques (IR, NMR, UV-Vis, and MS) and elemental analyses (for the metallophthalocyanines). Photocatalytic activities of 2a and 2b on 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) oxidation are reported. Parameters influencing the photooxidation process were determined; 4-NP oxidizes to less harmful products with high conversion and yield in the presence of Co(II) and Cu(II) phthalocyanine catalysts. | |
