Özet
The aim of this study is to determine alternative concepts regarding the solutions in the chemistry curriculum of the 9th grade, to improve teaching material used according to the constructivist teaching method, known as 5E model, and to compare the effects of the constructivist teaching method and traditional teaching methods respectively on the success of students. This study was conducted on a semi-experimental basis comprising of an experimental group as well as a control group. Both groups, having 30 students each, were selected randomly. While the topic of solutions was taught with worksheets and animations to the experimental group of students, it was taught with traditional methods to control group of students. The results obtained from the post-test and delayed tests reveal that both worksheets and computer animation concerning solutions are effective in teaching alternative concepts and keeping information in mind permanently.
