| dc.description.abstract | Organic and sustainable beekeeping practices have garnered significant attention worldwide due to their positive impact on honey products, honeybee health and environmental conservation. These practices ensure that bee products are of high quality and promote bee health. They represent an ecologically based approach that prioritizes the protection of ecosystem diversity, animal welfare and the sustainable use of natural resources. Bees play a crucial role in pollinating many flowering plants, including numerous food crops and wild species. As bees collect pollen and nectar from plants, they facilitate the process of fruit production. Due to their products and pollination services, bees are invaluable creatures both for humans and the natural world. Honey and bee products produced without the use of synthetic chemicals are standardized through organic certification programs. Integrating organic agriculture and sustainable land management practices with beekeeping is a key focus of this chapter. Organic and sustainable beekeeping practices contribute to the well-being of honeybees, the health of ecosystems and the overall sustainability of beekeeping as a vital agricultural activity. | |
