dc.description.abstractMagic, fortune telling and similar belief? become ditinctive powers which influence social institutions such as economy and government and shaping socio— cultural structure. ln today ’s society, though these beliefs considered to be marginal, they gradually increase their effect and turns into phenomenon in socio cultural life. Therefore, it is possible to see people who introduce themselves as fortune tellers and comment on past and future in fortune tellers’ houses in many parts of urban localities. The aim of this study is to understand how social perception to fortune telling comes into being and to identijŞ/ the underlying factors which causes this phenomena. In this context, over 82 people were interviewed using qualitative data collection techniques
dc.description.abstractİlkel ve geleneksel toplumlarda büyü, fal ve ona ilişkin benzer inanışlar iktidar, ekonomi gibi toplumsal kurumları etkileyen, dahası sosyal-kültürel yapıyı şekillendiren ayırıcı bir güç olmuştur. Günümüz toplum anlayışında ise bu tür inanış biçimleri her ne kadar marjinal olarak kabul edilse de, sosyo--kültürel yaşamda etkinliğini giderek arttıran bir olgu haline gelmektedir. Öyle ki, yaşadığımız çevreye baktığımızda kentsel mekânlardaki yerleşkelerin birçok yerinde fal bakım yeri adı verilen, gelecek ve geçmişe yönelik birtakım söylemlerde bulunan kendilerini falcı olarak tanıtan kişilere rastlamak mümkündür. Çalışmanın amacı, yaşadığımız çevrenin bir yansıması olarak bakabileceğimiz fal inanışına yönelik toplumsal algının ne şekilde tezahür ettiğini anlamak ve buna neden olan faktörleri belirlemeye çalışmaktır. Bu kapsamda 82 kişi üzerinde nitel veri toplama teknikleri kullanılarak görüşme yapılmıştır.
